MICROCHANNELING

What is Microchanneling?

Microchanneling is the next generation of skin rejuvenation and anti-aging. It uses extremely small filaments to penetrate the epidermis (the outer layer of the skin) using a hand-held FDA approved medical device. Creating these channels elicits a natural healing response from the body, encouraging cell turnover and signaling elastin and collagen production. While the channels are perforated potent serums, peptides and growth factors can be applied to deliver intense healing for further rejuvenation of the skin. While it is similar in technique to microneedling, it penetrates less and therefore is truly noninvasive, in most cases requiring no numbing. It has gained recent excitement throughout the beauty industry as a highly effective and quick treatment that produces clinically proven results.

Microchanneling is effective for fine lines, deep wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, skin tightening and overall texture improvement. It can also be used on scars and stretch marks. The treatment is approved for use on the face, neck, body or used to revitalize hair follicle growth. Other collagen induction therapies involve passing through the epidermis and entering the dermis layer to create small wounds that the body rushes to heal. While this can produce successful results, there will be some downtime. Additionally, the need for numbing creams is normally required so the time to treat is increased.

In many cases, the treatment will produce an immediate result. However, the results will build over the next 4-6 weeks. Although many patients are pleased with the results of a single treatment, for best results a series of 3-6 should be performed.
